I don’t usually do these, but i’m bored and lonely on a friday and i have to be up early so here we go:

1. Time to Pretend - MGMT

pretty recently added, within the last 2 months. reminds me of a commercial, and a time when i was feelin super fly. pretty sure i used these lyrics in like 10 status updates.

2. First Day of My Life - Bright Eyes
Reminds me of an old boyfriend, he showed it to me. Reminds me of april 2009. Such good lyrics though. Not a super good time in my life, i don’t think. I listen to it when i’m a lonely kitten and feel like crying. it’s in my sad playlist.Remember you drove all night, just to meet me in the morning?

3. Momma’s Boy - Chromeo

aahah, someone once special to me showed me this. reminds me of driving, cigarettes, coffee, skipping class, the smell of weed, the sunshine, last spring. sunglasses. haha. boy you got it so wrong, when you look into her eyes and all you really see is your mom.

4. Richman - 3Oh!3
Hahaa, reminds me of fall/winter 2008. stomping down the hallways of lc in the morning like i owned the place. I think that was the year. Glenna showed me this song, and a lot of their songs. we always rock out to this. it’s a sister song, for suresies. drinks are on the house, whiskey’s on the rocks while your sisters on my mouth.

5. Haligh, haligh, a lie, haligh - Bright Eyes

such a sad song, caylee showed it to me. had it on my computer for awhile before i really started to listen to it. summer 2008. it’s also in my sad playlist, i use the lyrics whenever i’m like ‘f u world’. it used to be in my msn name all the time, when msn was still cool. you said you’d always be there, well where are you now?

6. XoXo, Panda - My Crooked Crown
I never know if the band is called xoxo panda, or the song. either way, that same once-special someone showed me this. as weird as it sounds, i always think of myself when i hear this song. it gained new meaning for me this year, i think. i think it’s in my quiet playlist. hey lonely girl, living in your spinning world, can you hear me? Singing out so clearly…

7. Shake it - Metro Station

omg, i loved this song so much when it came out. glenna and i always, ALWAYS had it playing. september/ end of summer 2008. i felt so good, i loved the way i looked. feelin like hot shit going into grade 11. dancing on glennas bed in the dark, halloween 2008, the parties at dereks house, drinking for the first time, starting my rebellion streak, working at A&P. i could tell that you could tell that i was taking my time.

8.Riding Solo - Jason Derulo

yesssssssssssssss. my 18th birthday! holly driving us around in the big van, finishing our last exam, going to saigon. the hot tub, drunken swimming in holly’s pool, the shower, malibu, sleeping in the basement because it’s so much cooler. MY EXTENSIONS, tanning lotion, sunglasses. those jean shorts. last summer. i’m feelin like a star you can’t stop my shine.

9. Damaged - Danity Kane

aaha, kendra. kendra amy allen. summer 2008, going to NY, working at A&P, Dr. Who, making videos at my house.

10. HeartBreaker - MSTRKRFT

literally one of my favourite songs, reminds me of a guy i used to work with. flirting, that red american apparel sweater, tanning lotion, driving in his car, how it smelled disgusting, coffee, the warmer weather. feeling like a million cause he was sooooooooooo lovely. you’re in my mind, you’re in my heart, i wish i knew i right from the start, all my friends said you’d break my heart - a heartbreaker right from the start.
